Mary Lee - Alumni Spotlight
Jeremy Alves | November 29, 2016
Mary Lee (’10) began her career in audio for visual media immediately after graduating from OIART’s audio and music production program. Spending five years at Wanted! Sound and Picture, she ascended to the roles of recording engineer and sound editor before moving to to SuperSonics Post Production a year and a half ago. Her engineering credits there include the Gwen Stefani created Kuu Kuu Harajuku, Rusty Rivets, Camp Lake Bottom and numerous spots for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
She was mixing engineer on Billy Goes North on CMT (Country Music Television). You can also hear her work on popular children’s shows like Super Why! and Mike the Knight, She has worked on video games as well, recording and dialogue editing for Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
Mary said, “OIART gave me a great foundation to start in the industry. It gave me a realistic look at what to expect and how to behave when you’re getting started. OIART’s expansive curriculum gave me the fundamentals required to be flexible at a studio, not just recording and mixing, but in how to troubleshoot and solve problems.”
