David Ciccarelli (’00, left) co-founded Voices.com in 2004 and is truly one of OIART’s great business success stories. Starting with a small recording studio in downtown London, he and wife Stephanie (pictured) were quick to recognize the potential of the internet for creative collaboration. Together they founded Voices.com as a way to virtually connect voice talent with clients outside the boundaries of a studio facility. They have since become the leading online marketplace for voice over talent worldwide, a crown jewel of London’s tech sector and one of North America’s fastest growing Internet brands and digital media companies.
Expecting to grow from 120 to 300 employees by 2019, they recently announced an upcoming move to take over an entire floor of the 360,000 square foot Bell building on Dundas Street in London. David told the London Free Press, “It’s the single, biggest floor space in the city. Our staff want to be in the core. Most of them live here and they can walk to work.”
A finalist for the 2016 Business Achievement Awards in the Excellence in Human Resources category and one of the 500 fastest-growing companies in Canada for 2015, Voices.com has been named one of Canada’s fastest growing companies by Profit 50 four out of the past five years. David has been named one of London’s Top 20 Under 40 by Business London magazine, and Stephanie has appeared for a second time on the W100 list of Canada’s Top Female Entrepreneurs in 2015, ranked #41 of 100 entrepreneurs. David and Stephanie both lecture at OIART annually, with David sharing his business and entrepreneurial wisdom and Stephanie talking about the Voice Over industry.
