Brian Gallant - Alumni Spotlight

Jeremy Alves | Nov 16, 2016

Engineer and Mixer Brian Gallant graduated from OIART’s audio and music production school in 2010, and since then he has compiled an impressive list of film, TV, Video Game and advertising credits. From commercials for Nike to OLG, Home Depot and Uber, he has also recorded dialogue for TV shows such as Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs, Mr. Peabody and Sherman, How To Train Your Dragon, Canada’s Worst Driver, and the Canadian Screen Award winning Grojband.

His video game work is equally impressive, and includes Assassins Creed Unity, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Splinter Cell Blacklisted. He has also contributed his talents to features including Angry Birds and Pirate’s Passage. Brian records and mixes the Wanted! Live web series from Wanted! Sound and Picture, where he began working in the industry almost immediately after graduating OIART.

Brian very much prefers to work behind the scenes, in fact he had to take a photo especially for us as he didn’t have any. He’s clearly doing what he loves. Brian said, “OIART gave me the fundamentals and theories that were very helpful in understanding why to do certain things as opposed to memorizing what needed to be done. That understanding helped immensely with troubleshooting and anticipating needs or problems at the studio. OIART thoroughly prepared me for what to realistically expect from an entry level position in the audio industry.” Awesome Brian!
