Ana Teodora Popa (’10) runs the sound and video department and manages a crew of three at the Teatrul National “Vasile Alecsandri” in Iasi, Romania.
Of her career, Ana says, “I believe this job suits me perfectly: every day is different. I have freedom of choice. I get to use high-end gear and above all, I enjoy the strong personalities I meet along the way (directors, designers, choreographers, etc) who make this career a continuous learning experience. Passionate people is what I admire the most.”
“Besides work ethic, gaining trust is also important, so when meeting with a director for the first time I keep in mind what (OIART Sound Design Instructor) Mark Vogelsang said: “You are taking someone’s dream into your hands and you are supporting it with sound.”
