Student Videos

These videos are in response to numerous requests for a look at what happens in a typical ‘day in the life’ of an OIART student. We asked Brendon Culliton to spend some time with the students during classes and labs, with his camera running. The result is four videos that we hope will give you a feel for what goes on here.

Music Production Classes

For six classes of the Music Production course, OIART students worked with OIART grad and Juno award-winning producer/engineer, Dan Brodbeck. All performances, recording, and mixing was done by OIART students during class, under Dan's supervision.

Live Sound

Every year as part of the Live Sound course students participate in local festivals and concerts to gain real world hands-on experience. This video shows students participating in Sunfest, an international music festival and at Aeolian Hall, one of London's top performance venues.

Music Production Labs

In this video, we follow OIART students Alex Baerg, Alex Krotz, Rob McDowell, and Randy Rector, as the crew records drums and bass for a semester-2 music production lab project.

Audio for Pictures

Instructor Mark Vogelsang and his students take you through the post-production process for a semester-2, Audio for Pictures lab project. Animation was provided by award-winning Spanish director, Carlos Lascano.
