Jason Dufour

Assistant Engineer, Revolution Recording, Toronto ON

2011 was an unusual year in the history of Toronto studios with more than one large music recording facility opening its doors. Revolution, one of the largest, is scheduled to open in summer 2011. Featuring a gigantic tracking room, it is built to roughly the specifications of Abbey Road Studio 2 where the Beatles made their classic records. The studio also has a large selection of vintage microphones and equipment, a classic Neve tracking console, plus an SSL for mixing. Jason will be an assistant engineer at the impressive new facility, a division of Joao Carvalho Mastering. Jason was previously an assistant at Phase One Studios in Toronto. www.joaocarvalhomastering.com

Brian Penny

Musician, Engineer, Producer, Mixer, Owner, Three Egg Studios NYC

A guitarist and guitar builder, for a couple busy years Brian shuttled back and forth between Boston to engineer records and Brooklyn where he set up a venue and artist collective, I Made An Art, with band mate Bryan Kane. In 2010 the pair had the opportunity to purchase a large 2-room facility in Brooklyn, featuring a vintage Neve console. The busy studio primarily caters to independent bands, and runs Pro Tools, Logic, Samplitude, Sonar, Sequoia, Reason, Live and Nuendo to cover any session format. www.3eggstudios.com
