OIART Alumni have been incredibly busy in the industry!
Our graduates have been busy winning Gemini Awards, Canadian Country Music Awards, MIX Magazine Awards, and so much more. We’re very proud of the excellent work that all OIART alumni have accomplished over the years.
Here are just a few of the many successes that have come out of OIART:
- OIART grads Stacey Dodds (1996), Matt Green (2003) and Mike Snow (2005), at Chalice Studios, are celebrating two MIX Magazine TEC award nominations for Kanye West's "Late Registration" album. Congratulations!
- Mike Snow also has his hands full as the assistant engineer to Diddy while Matt Green just finished editing the new Fallout Boy album. Matt also worked on Fallout Boy’s “Under the Cork Tree” album, featuring the hit song “Dance, Dance” which won the MTV Video Viewer’s Choice Award.
- Ryan Castle (1998) has been busy engineering the new Wolfmother album with producer Dave Sardy. Ryan's other recent credits include The Rolling Stones and OASIS.
- Toban Mills (1999) has been nominated for two Gemini awards for his work on "Canada's Worst Driver" and "Canada's Worst Handyman".
- Mike Shepherd (1997) was chosen to set up a studio in Nashville for five-time East Coast Music Award winner Gordie Sampson. Gordie wrote the Country Music Award Song of the Year “Jesus Take the Wheel” recorded by American Idol winner Carrie Underwood. Mike has been Gordie's engineer for eight years. Mike and Gordie are currently recording a session at Blackbird Studios with George Massenburg.
