OIART Grads Win at 2016 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards

Congratulations to The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, who won "Best Recording Studio" at the Canadian Music And Broadcast Industry Awards last week. The Bryan Adams owned studio, whose clients have included AC/DC, Barenaked Ladies, Billy Talent, Elton John, Elvis Costello, Hedley, Mariana’s Trench, Metallica, Michael Buble, Nickelback, Nirvana, R.E.M., Rush, Simple Plan, Sloan and The Tragically Hip employs five graduates. Studio Manager Bryan Gallant '00, assistant recording engineers Ryan Enockson '08, Dominick Civiero '11 and Hayden Watson '14 and assistant technician David Taylor '14 all attended OIART's audio and music production school.

Adrian Gonzales '05 is the Front Of House audio engineer for "Breakthrough Touring Artist" winner Alessia Cara. Doug McKendrick '00 is Production Manager at "Best Performing Arts Center Over 1500 Capacity" and "Best Teamwork in a Soft Seat Theater" winner Massey Hall in Toronto. Doug himself was nominated for "Best Tour Manager." Eric Chorostecki '07 is the Head Technician and Mixer at "Best Teamwork in a Medium Sized Club" winner The Mod Club Theatre in Toronto.
