Financing Your Education
We strongly recommended financing as much of your educational expenses as possible through savings and other private resources. Otherwise, a large debt could force you to make less-than-optimal employment choices in the future, such as choosing jobs based on financial necessity rather than career opportunity.
Should you require financial aid, or if you’d just like to explore your options, please contact OIART’s financial aid office: financialaid@oiart.org
International and U.S. Student Loans
If you’re outside Canada, explore loan opportunities through career counselling offices in your country. The U.S. federal government does not recognize private career colleges outside the United States as eligible for federal student loans.
Federal and Provincial Student Loans
(CANADA ONLY)
Each province, in conjunction with the federal government, sponsors loans for post-secondary education. Applicants must be Canadian citizen, meet financial requirements and be attending an educational institution that qualifies for support. The federal contribution is called the CSL (Canada Student Loan), but the name of provincial loan varies. In Ontario, it’s called OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program). No matter where you live in Canada, apply for both loans through your provincial student assistance program. If the province deems you eligible, the Federal government supports that agreement by contributing a percentage of the total amount (the CSL). OIART students may qualify for both federal and provincial financial assistance.
