Financing Your Education
We strongly recommend that prospective students finance
as much of their education as possible through personal savings
or other private resources. If you have a large debt burden at
the end of your studies, it could inhibit your ability to seek
appropriate employment and you may find yourself making decisions
based on economic necessity rather than career opportunity.
Well-organized financial planning should begin at the outset
of your career. Choosing, preparing for and attending the best
and most appropriate school is the true starting point for a successful
career pursuit.

International and US Student Loans
International and US student loan opportunities
should be investigated through career counselling offices in your
vicinity. Currently the US federal government does not recognise
private career colleges outside the US as being eligible for federal
student loans.
Federal and Provincial Student Loans (Canada
only)
In conjunction with the Federal government,
each province will sponsor loans for post-secondary education
if an individual Canadian citizen (and the educational institution)
qualifies for this support. The Federal portion of the loan is
referred to as the CSL (Canada Student Loan). The name of the
Provincial loan varies foreach province. In Ontario it is referred
to as an OSAP loan (Ontario Student Assistance Program). Regardless
of where you’re located in Canada, you apply for both loans
through your provincial student assistance program. If the province
deems you eligible, the Federal government supports that agreement
with a percentage of the total loan value coming from the CSL.
For students who attend OIART, both federal and provincial financial
assistance may be available to those that qualify.
